Underwater Kinetics Aqualite Video Flashlight
Underwater Kinetics just announced the release of two flashlights made specifically for underwater photography and videography – the Aqualite Video flashlights. There are two different models; the Aqualite 90, which has a wide 90 degree beam angle, and the Aqualite 65, which has a narrower 65 degree beam angle. The 90 degree light works best with wide angle underwater video cameras, while the 65 degree light works best with standard underwater video cameras.
Both the Aqualite 90 and the Aqualite 65 produce 600 lumens in high and have 4 distinct brightness levels. Use the rear power dial to navigate the different levels. The color temperature of the beam is rated at 5000K, so the beam will replicate mid-day sunlight. The Aqualite flashlights are powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable rechargeable battery that comes with a USB charge cord and AC wall adapter. You actually receive a spare rechargeable battery with the kit, so you can always have an extra battery charged up when you need it.
The Aqualite flashlight will run for up to 1.3 hours in the high setting, and up to 9 hours at the 120 lumen output (the lowest output). It’s uber-compact – measuring just 6.8″ long and weighing 25 oz with batteries, making it easier for you to travel light. The Aqualite has two 1/4-20 threaded screw holes, so it can easily be mounted to most underwater video/camera arms. The kit does not include any video arms, but Underwater Kinetics recommends using the Flex Arm Series from Beneath the Surface designs.
The Underwater Kinetics Aqualite Video flashlights are available on BrightGuy.com. BrightGuy stocks over 450 types of flashlights and is an authorized distributor for Streamlight, SureFire, Fenix, Underwater Kinetics, Princeton Tec, Petzl, LED Lenser, Pelican, and more.
