TerraLUX TDR-2 Rechargeable Flashlight Announcement
Lighting manufacturer TerraLUX just announced the new TerraLUX Duty Rechargeable TDR-2 flashlight. It’s targeted towards police officers and professionals who can benefit from the cost savings of a rechargeable flashlight. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications:
TerraLUX TDR-2 Rechargeable Flashlight
Output: 500 lumens high, 150 lumens medium, 10 lumens low
Battery type: 2200 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable
Length: 6.25″ long
LED type: CREE XM-L
MSRP: $199.99
Availability: Late August 2013
One of the coolest features of the TerraLUX TDR-2 flashlight is it’s recharging system. It comes with a USB-powered magnetic charging cord. This means that the cord can self-orient, and there’s no charging bracket needed. This design means that there’s no room for a switch on the tail of the flashlight, however. Instead, the TerraLUX TDR-2 will have two pushbutton switches on the body of the light. The large button will control the primary on/off function, and the smaller button will give you access to the other two output modes and strobe. Like TerrLUX’s TT series of tactical lights, the TDR-2 will have instant access to strobe from the off position simply by pressing the smaller mode switch.
The TerraLUX TDR-2 flashlight will also has a removable stainless steel strike bezel, similar to the already popular design of the TerraLUX TT-5 tactical flashlight. TerraLUX plans to have different colored filters for this light as well, so it will be a great choice for hunting, camping, and other specialty applications.
The TerraLUX TDR-2 rechargeable flashlight will begin shipping in late August 2013. It will be available for purchase on BrightGuy.com. BrightGuy stocks over 500 different flashlight models and is an authorized distributor for TerraLUX, ZebraLight, Streamlight, SureFire, Fenix, Underwater Kinetics, Princeton Tec, Petzl, LED Lenser, Pelican, and more.
