Fenix E50 Flashlight Announcement
Flashlight brand Fenix just announced the addition of a new light to their “E” series of flashlights – the Fenix E50 LED Flashlight. It will have a maximum output of 780 lumens with a 1.75 hour run time. The E50 will offer users a choice on battery type – it can run on 4 CR123 primary lithium batteries OR 2 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. It will have a total of 4 brightness levels and will utilize a Cree XM-L (T6) neutral white LED emitter.
Like the Fenix E25 and Fenix E35, the E50 will have a single body switch that is used to turn the light on and off and also to select the brightness level. Press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the on, then press and release the switch to cycle through the 4 different brightness levels. Press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the light off.
The new Fenix E50 will actually be made up of 2 body tubes. If you want to run the light on just 2 CR123 batteries instead of 4, you can remove the second tube and have a much more pocket-friendly flashlight. You will get a decreased output if you decide to use just 2 batteries, but Fenix does not list outputs and run times for that configuration. When the E50 is using 4 CR123 batteries (the larger size), it measures 8.1″ long with a 1.5″ head diameter.
The Fenix E50 will sell for $74.95 and will be available in early November. The Fenix E50 will be available for purchase on BrightGuy.com. BrightGuy stocks over 450 types of flashlights and is an authorized distributor for Streamlight, SureFire, Fenix, Underwater Kinetics, Princeton Tec, Petzl, LED Lenser, Pelican, and more.
